Acorio Powers Up with Venture Funding

Acorio, an IT innovator providing ServiceNow planning, implementation, integration, and optimization services for Fortune 2000 companies, today announced an initial round of venture funding from Momentum Equity Partners and the appointment of Jim Lampert as president and chief executive officer.

“Jim is the perfect leader to put Acorio on the right trajectory for growth in the explosive, multibillion-dollar ITSM SaaS market,” said Frank Selldorff, chairman of Momentum Equity Partners and founder of Acorio. “His more than 25 years of experience, including leadership positions in data storage and cloud computing, means customers will achieve exceptional results that cannot be matched by general IT and service providers.”

Selldorff, a veteran of the IT consulting industry, started Acorio in October 2012 and previously founded Meteorix, a provider of consulting, integration, and implementation services for companies utilizing Workday enterprise cloud applications for human capital management and finance.

Acorio will use its Series A funding to hire key personnel in sales and delivery, and to invest in its proprietary POWERBooster„¢ tools designed to accelerate successful ServiceNow software-as-a-service (SaaS) deployments.

“ServiceNow’s Service Automation Platform coupled with Acorio’s POWERBooster tools and industry expertise will provide breakthrough, customizable solutions to transform the way business and IT interact,” said Lampert. “Joining Acorio represents a unique opportunity and I’m excited to partner with Frank and Momentum Equity Partners. They have a history of successfully investing in enterprise cloud implementation services businesses and understand the space exceptionally well.”

Lampert, 48, has extensive experience with technology companies. Prior to joining Acorio, he founded Global Green Consulting Group, a sustainability solutions innovator that was acquired by Cloud Technology Partners in 2011. Lampert previously worked for Ascend Consulting, StorageNetworks, and eDocs. Earlier in his career, he spent more than 13 years working in sales and sales leadership positions in the San Francisco Bay Area for EMC.

“Acorio exhibits great timing by becoming a partner of ServiceNow, an emerging force in the cloud service management software market,” said Wayne Pauley, senior analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group Inc., an integrated IT research, analysis, and strategy firm.

“In today’s dynamic business climate, ITSM is a critical component for CIOs to reach the goal of converting from an allocation-based IT shop to an agile component of the enterprise,” Pauley said. “Acorio’s tools and service expertise are a great way to increase the time to value for technology like ServiceNow, but also significantly increase the success of the transformation as a whole.”

ServiceNow provides cloud-based services that transform enterprise IT by automating and standardizing business processes and consolidating IT operations. Organizations deploy ServiceNow to create a single system of record for enterprise IT, lower operational costs, and enhance efficiency.

“We are pleased to welcome Acorio as an impressive new partner in our network of specialist organizations that deliver world-class IT services to our customers,” said Kevin Haverty, vice president of Americas sales for ServiceNow. “Acorio offers deep ITSM SaaS experience and, with their efficient service approach combined with their POWERBooster technology, Frank and Jim are dedicated to the success of ServiceNow customers.”
