AeroFS Secures $10M

The new round, which was led by Avalon Ventures and NHN Investment, will be used to expand product development and marketing for the company’s latest private cloud workgroup collaboration offering.

‘With an increasingly mobile workforce and the rise of BYOD, demand for modern workplace collaboration technology has never been higher. Unfortunately, today’s public cloud solutions fall short for many companies due to privacy, security and data sovereignty concerns,’ said Yuri Sagalov, CEO and co-founder of AeroFS. ‘At the same time, the private cloud offers more than just security. In many cases, it also offers much higher performance and significantly reduced cost of ownership. That’s why we’re continually expanding our suite of offerings to include workgroup productivity tools that are both secure and easily deployed or migrated to any on-prem or private cloud platform in the world.’

AeroFS recently released the industry’s first free private cloud solution for enterprise workgroups that includes support for Docker as well as full OpenStack integration. The company’s innovations in the private cloud space and ability to offer free, secure private solutions to enterprise workgroups have helped propel its recent growth.

As part of this recent funding round, NHN Investment Director Woo Kim will be joining the AeroFS board of directors. Additional board members include Rich Levandov of Avalon Ventures, and AeroFS co-founders Yuri Sagalov and Weihan Wang.

‘There is a shift taking hold in the enterprise world. Ever changing compliance regulations and data sovereignty rules mean enterprises can’t simply assume their public cloud offerings are secure,’ said Woo Kim, NHN Investments Director. ‘That’s why AeroFS has seen incredible traction for its first-generation private cloud file sync and share solutions with world-class customers in healthcare, finance, automotive, telecom, and many more industries. We look forward to helping them expand with new collaboration offerings that companies can use to harness the benefits of workgroup productivity without sacrificing security.’
