Always Prepped Lands $650K in Seed Funding

Always Prepped, an education technology startup, announced today that it has raised $650,000 in seed funding. The round is led by Silicon Valley-based True Ventures with participation from angel investors including Hooman Radfar, Chairman and Founder of data giant AddThis, and former Blackboard EVP Todd Gibby.

esigned in collaboration with over 200 active and former teachers, Always Prepped’s mission is to create a data-driven classroom to improve student performance. Founder and CEO Fahad Hassan said his company’s goal is to make data consumable for teachers.

“We know that teachers use assessment tools, behavior tracking apps, attendance systems and other programs to monitor student progress, but the problem is the data’s everywhere. By creating one centralized dashboard to manage all of these data points, we’re filling a major void in education,” he said.

Being involved in education for the past seven years, Hassan is familiar with both the marketplace and the needs of educators. His first company, Daylert, a higher education-focused startup, was acquired in 2008 by Intelliworks, a leading CRM platform. Hassan’s industry experience and strong passion for directly improving educational outcomes resonated with lead investor True Ventures, said True Ventures founding partner John Burke.

“We are inspired by Fahad’s dedication to helping both students and teachers succeed in the classroom. We believe that Fahad’s passion, combined with his early success as a founder, put him and his team in a position to achieve tremendous success with Always Prepped,” he said.

Always Prepped is currently available in beta for all K-12 teachers.
