Ambio Health Secures $525K

Ambio Health, a healthcare technology company specializing in health monitoring systems, today announced its third round of angel funding in the amount of $525,000, for a total of $2M of funding since Ambio was founded in 2011.

The Ambio Remote Health Monitoring System debuted at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show and was named as one of eWeek’s ’10 Health and Fitness Tools To Track Exercise, Chronic Conditions.’ The product offers patients wireless remote health monitoring for a variety of chronic conditions including high blood pressure and diabetes. Home health readings are automatically logged and can be viewed by family members, healthcare providers and caregivers from the secure, web-based Ambio Care Portal. Individualized reminders can also be created for readings and medications that can be sent to the patient via telephone call, text message or email. The tool is HIPAA compliant.

‘We’ve seen a tremendous amount of momentum since launching at CES earlier this year,’ said Kevin Jones, chief executive officer at Ambio Health. ‘In addition to our funding, we achieved another milestone when we secured FDA 510(k) clearance in July. The market momentum and customer feedback we have received thus far further validates our belief that an alternative monitoring product that is affordable and easy-to-use is sorely needed in the healthcare market.’
