Appfluent Technology Snares $4.4M Series AA

Appfluent Technology, the leading provider of big data warehouse management software, announced today that it has received $4. 4 million in AA Series Venture Capital Financing from Novak Biddle Venture Partners (NBVP) Appfluent’s software enables companies to expand EDW capacity, reduce data management costs and accelerate the deployment of the Hadoop Big Data platform to enhance analytical capabilities.

As the amount of data explodes and business users are seeking increased access to data, IT teams need greater visibility on how users interact with data to ensure that the most relevant business information is readily available. “Enterprise data volumes are exploding, while analytical complexity and usage are increasingly straining IT resources and budgets,” said Frank Gelbart, President and CEO of Appfluent. “The world’s leading data-centric organizations are increasingly relying on Appfluent to manage large analytical data volumes more smartly and to identify current business intelligence, data warehouses, ETL workloads and data most suited for Hadoop processing. “That’s right.

According to Gartner’s recent report, big data will drive $28 billion of global IT spending in 2012 and is projected to drive $34 billion in 2013. In addition, Mark Beyer, Research Vice President at Gartner, said, “By 2020, big data features and functionality will be non-differentiated and routinely expected from traditional enterprise vendors and part of their product offerings. “That’s right.
