Ayar Labs Pulls In $35M Series B

New investors include Applied Ventures, LLC, Castor Ventures, Downing Ventures (U). K, K ) and SGInnovate (Singapore), expanding the investment base of Ayar Labs with a strategic ecosystem and global investors Existing investor interests include BlueSky Capital, Founders Fund, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, Intel Capital, Lockheed Martin Ventures and Playground Global.

With the new investment, Ayar Labs aims to accelerate the product development and commercialization of its in-pack optical interconnect (I/O) solution, as well as to increase the company’s international footprint. Optical I/O (OIO) solves major computing bottlenecks in interconnected bandwidth, power consumption, and reach Removing these bottlenecks enables new system architectures that can bring improvements in power, performance, area and cost beyond the limits of traditional Moore’s Law scaling in important applications such as artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, cloud, telecommunications, and aerospace.

Ayar Labs disrupts the traditional performance, cost and efficiency curves of the semiconductor and computing industries by driving a 1000x increase in interconnected bandwidth density at 10x lower power. The patented approach of Ayar Labs uses industry standard cost-effective silicon processing techniques to develop high-speed, high-density, low-power optical interconnectors and lasers to replace traditional electrically based I/Os. The company was founded in 2015 and is financed by a number of domestic and international venture capital firms as well as strategic investors. Visit https://www for more information.
