Bear Flag Robotics Nabs $3.5M Seed Round

Agtech, a company based in Silicon Valley, is developing autonomous farm technology that will help growers reduce their operating costs and increase their yields. The autonomous driving technology of Bear Flag Robotics for farm tractors solves these problems by equipping tractors and equipment with technology that enables growers to automate many of their most common tasks. These include spraying and mowing operations in specialty crops such as nuts, fruit and grapes, in addition to common ground preparation tasks such as dispensing and ripping. As a result, the Bear Flag allows a single supervisor to operate a fleet of vehicles where an entire crew was once required.

Autonomous technology is already enabling advances in the manufacturing, mining and aviation industries. However, agriculture has yet to leverage this technology, which will be needed to meet the 70% increase in global food demand by 2050.
