Previous investor Sequoia Capital and new investor Northgate participated in the round, which also includes AT&T’s strategic investment, which will help accelerate early product testing and deployment. Blue Danube is addressing the explosive growth of mobile data generated by the proliferation of video applications and interconnected devices by making the use of existing wireless spectrum more efficient. The company will use these new funds to accelerate the commercial deployment of a new radio system, based on its proprietary integrated circuits and software, enabling an average cell capacity increase of up to 10X with existing LTE infrastructure and mobile devices. Technology also empowers mobile service providers to build capacity to better serve high-demand service areas and to mitigate interference zones
