Egypt’s Mint Incubator (by EGBank), in partnership with Cairo Angels has called for applications for their 2020 edition. The deadline for the same is 15 August 2020.

Mint is a platform by EGBank that helps individuals to access the world of banking, accelerate their business through Mint Hub, Mint Bank and Mint Incubator. Cairo Angels, one of the leading startup investment groups in the Middle East and Africa and EGBank’s have partnered since 2018 to launch Mint Incubator in Egypt.

It is an intensive and aggressively competitive three-month long, equity-free incubation program.  It is designed to accelerate the growth of product-ready startups. The incubator neither takes equity nor provides debt to startups. The program is designed for businesses that already have a product, not just an idea.

Their selection criteria are-

  • Early stage startups at the minimal viable product and growth stage.
  • No sector restriction.
  • Have a highly scalable business model with the team to execute
  • Main founder must be between 16-35 years of age
  • No limits on the size of the team

After selection, startups are paired with a mentor who provides support and guidance to them throughout the incubator program. Series of workshops are conducted by EGBank and its partners. access to free tools and applications, a co-working space in Talaat Harb Square (the heart of Downtown Cairo) and networking sessions. The Mint Incubator capitalizes on the networks of EGBANK and Cairo Angels, so that startups can benefit from relevant stakeholders. These stakeholders are corporates, business professionals, entrepreneurs, academics, start-ups eco-system partners and investors.

The program finally culminates in a Demo Day, where the startups pitch to an audience of top angel and venture capital investors. The judges for the pitch competition are chosen based on their experience in investment and/or mentorship.

Some of the Mint Incubator Graduates from the last two years are- Baddel, ProMental, El Mawka, Koay, Mollaem, Reshrimp among others.
