Freshworks, Chennai-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) unicorn, has acquired Flint, Singapore-based cloud management platform, for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition will enable Freshworks’ IT teams to better manage hybrid infrastructure, optimise spend and automate employee workflow by providing greater visibility. It will also help bolster its IT support service portfolio, Freshservice.

Founded in October 2010, Freshworks provides SaaS customer engagement solutions to organizations of all sizes to make it easier for support, sales and marketing professionals to communicate effectively with customers. The company offers a variety of products including Freshdesk, Freshservice, Freshsales, Freshcaller, Freshteam, Freshchat, Freshmarketer and Freshrelease. Freshworks is backed by investors like Accel, Tiger Global Management, CapitalG and Sequoia Capital India.

This acquisition marks Freshworks’ third acquisition is the span of last one year. In May 2019, it acquired Natero Inc which enabled Freshworks to add customer success to its customer engagement portfolio. In February 2020, it acquired AnsweriQ Inc that helped reinforce the capabilities of Freddy AI, the company’s artificial intelligence engine.

In May, Freshworks appointed Tyler Sloat as its Chief Financial Officer. The company recently also said that it has crossed US$ 200M in annual recurring revenue.

Prakash Ramamurthy, CPO of Freshworks, explained the impact of today’s environment with companies increasingly adopting remote working scenarios owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that IT automation will be “vital to help accelerate the transition to a remote workforce and resolve service issues faster”. He also discussed the benefits of the acquisition. “With the addition of Flint’s intelligent automation, Freshworks takes the legwork out of tedious, repeatable tasks so that IT teams can focus on high impact work while providing an exceptional employee experience.”, added Ramamurthy.
