Premium delivery app Pick.A.Roo launched in Philippines

Pick.A.Roo, a new premium consumer delivery app, has been launched this week by Kevin Tan and Crystal Gonzalez in the Philippines.

As of now, Agile Digital Ventures is the sole investor in the platform.

About Pick.A.Roo

As Philippines’ first homegrown premium all-in-one lifestyle delivery app, Pick.A.Roo is a new consumer delivery app facilitating the transition to the “new normal”. It enables customers to order from establishments with up to a 10-kilometer radius from their location. Its introductory service fee starts at P168 per delivery (P80 delivery fee and shopper fees at P88). Currently, the platform has 1,400 shoppers and riders to fulfil the orders.

Till now, Pick.A.Roo has collaborated with 300 merchants and brands. These represent “essentials” from premium groceries and luxury hotel goodies to gadgets, home and kitchen products, toys, and food items. Some of these brands include S&R Membership Shopping, Marriott Hotel Manila, Shangri-La At the Fort, Beyond the Box, The Grid Food Market, Hawker Chan, Kam’s Roast.

Launch of Pick.A.Roo

During the virtual launch, Gonzalez said that Pick.A.Roo aims to fill a gap in the increasingly crowded grocery and food delivery service space by focusing on premium products curated and “approved” by the platform. In addition, Tan said, “We decided that to be able to create a unique all-in-one and on-demand premium delivery experience, we had to build our own homegrown start-up and redefine the Filipino’s shopping experience.”

Gonzalez mentioned that the new platform is unique as it focuses on premium products, convenience and safety. “We perfected the user experience on the app and made sure to adhere to the strictest safety protocols.”

Therefore, Pick.A.Roo’s has paid nearly obsessive attention to safety measures for its riders and shoppers. These safety measures include equipping them with PPEs, having them undergo periodic rapid testing for COVID-19, and reminding them constantly about safety measures through app-integrated protocols. Additionally, FWD Life Philippines will provide life insurance to all our riders and personal shoppers. On top of providing protection, a financial literacy program will be rolled out too.

Future plans

Furthermore, Pick.A.Roo’s plans for the future include expanding into more cities, regions, and hopefully, in other countries as well.

On August 8, Pick.A.Roo will be available on beta testing for the first 188 users who will be exclusively invited. Moreover, the app will be available to regular customers in key cities in Metro Manila starting August 18, 2020.
