Recently, AetherAI received $6M venture capital funding from Quanta Computer- a provider of design and manufacturing services in hi-tech markets, based in Taiwan. Previously, they have received funding from Cathay Venture as well. The total funding amount raised by AetherAI as of today stands at $7.1M.
It was founded in 2015 by Dr. Joe Ye, who loves programming, Billy Kan who is familiar with network programming, and Steve Yeh, who has served in IBM for more than 30 years. The three of them realizedhow the powerful combination of digital microscopy and artificial intelligence could revolutionize medicine, leading to the foundation of AetherAI.
Their mission is to use state-of-the-art IT to improve the healthcare quality. The company is dedicated to developing intuitive web interface for medical images and AI-powered image analysis workflow. They have also produced, according to their own statement, world’s first model of a microscope for the automatic differential counting of bone marrow smears. It is a microscope model based on artificial intelligence (AI), that could speed up leukaemia diagnosis significantly in the future, as it takes a haematologist at least half an hour to manually count blood cells and classify them, in suspected Leukaemia patients.
AetherAI has built expert-level cancer screening model and prognosis prediction models, ready for clinical trials. They blend multi-modality image viewer, annotation tools and deep learning frameworks into its integrative web platform that easily turns data into insight.
Some notable partners and customers of AetherAI include Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, National Taiwan University Hospital, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
The CEO and Co-founder- Dr. Joe Yeh firmly believes, “The AI revolution will realize the ultimate value of digital medical images and bring healthcare to the next level.”
