Bastille Networks, the first security company to detect and mitigate threats to the Internet of Things (IoT), announced that it has secured $1. $5 million in funding from top investors in Atlanta Angel Investment will be used to fuel the development of the product and the successful implementation of its first pilots
Founded in April by Chris Rouland, a veteran Internet security executive, Bastille Networks is a pioneer in IoT security with next generation sensors, enabling corporations to accurately quantify risk and mitigate 21st century airborne threats.
Racing to make the IoT secure
The world will be home to 50 billion connected devices by 2020. With five connected devices per person up to 2017, the exponential rise of IoT poses challenges for today’s security professionals who are responsible for protecting individual devices, information networks and physical environments.
The magnitude of these new airborne threat vectors is starting to vex the industry. As Goldman Sachs points out in his recent report, IoT is still the most explosive and important Internet trend. However, the report notes that security concerns are escalating to a whole new level with the IoT. ”
